King O’s original name was Ophelia. But because he’s the King around here, everyone refers to him as King O. O has been here for about three years. And he is adoptable and available. However, he needs the right home, the right fit. King O is famous on Youtube and has his own Facebook page. So he’s a pretty famous little guy. He truly is very entertaining. Here he is in the back office having fun being the center of attention. And as far as O is concerned, that is the way it ought to be.

I have been watching the King for a while,he is gorgeous and a character. The people at the sanctuary all deserve a medal but I am a little jealous you get to be around these beautiful creatures all day.

O had been pulling them out with his feet even before he arrived at Best Friends. It is now more of a habit than anything, but they love him just the same and for exactly who he is.

oh i wasnt implying that he wasnt happy. i know how they get these habits when they are unhappy and just dont loose them. my M2 wasnt given toys in his previous home and he found that feathers are fun to play with. Even tho he has dozens of toys he still will snip off feathers to play with. I’m so happy for King O that he’s found a place to be loved and appreciated. so please, no disrespect intended to you or those wonderful folk at Best Friends. I was just empathizing with the situation.

hi there jane here in the uk i must say if i ever win a substantial amount of money i would move over to where his majesty is and have a house specially built for him to come and stay whenever he liked im not expecting him to want to stay with me permanently but its there if he chooses to do so he has given me so much entertainment over the past year or so, but one thing i do notice is that whenever i see him he has a better looking amount of feathers than previous hence why i wouldnt want to move him from where he wanted unless he wanted to as we all know the stress that change can do to any bird let alone one as famous as Knock Out King O and you really are gorgeous KO i really wish me and my flock of seven birds lived closer
keep up the great work guys

I love King O, such a funny and sweet boy. I worked with him, and all the parrots at Best Friends in May 2011, and I’d go back all the time (if only Toronto wasn’t quite so far away from Kanab!). The BEST King O moment while I was there was when he figured out how to open the bottom desk drawer, where the Cheerios he gets as a treat are held. I came back in to the office, to find him standing on the edge of the drawer, Cheerios held in his little toes, and saying “Uh Oh!” (just like in the video above). And I just laughed at him, put him back on his playstand, and said, “Yes, ‘uh oh’ to you, mister! What do we do with you?!” LOL 🙂
Such good memories – I can’t wait to go back!
