7:27 p.m.

I’m sitting on the front porch of the Intern house. My favorite place since I cleaned it. I have spent the most amazing 2 days. I could leave now and be happy. Steve picked me up at the airport, brought me to the intern house where I unloaded my stuff and he took me to Kroger’s. I shopped, and we went back home. I met Alicia who lives on the top floor of the house and she went through the alarm system and electronic lock. So many codes! I hate codes. I was dismissed to unpack and promptly went up to unpack and figure out what in gods name I was doing here. So I went to find out. I was given keys to the zoo. Yes! I’m good to visit until 9 p.m. The zoo closes at 6. The best time to see a zoo is when nobody is there.  I wandered around. Got lost. Saw so many things. I found the bird exhibit and found the puffins and the penguins. I stood in front of the penguin exhibit and just about broke down. Little did I know that 48 hours later I would be feeding said penguins. I will write more tomorrow. It’s late and I have to get up at 5 a.m.
