I’m heading for the Black Hills Parrot Welfare & Education Center this weekend! I’m pretty excited about it because I’ve never been to South Dakota. I’ve been to tons of places due to my 26 years of flying, but never South Dakota. So I really don’t even know what to expect.

Here’s how it came down: I get a call from Jacque Johnson at Best Friends Animal Society. Jacque then informs me that I’m going to South Dakota.

“Really?”

“Yes, really.”

“What for?”

“Well, Black Hills Parrots is having an event and you’re going.”

“Why?”

“Because I already kind of promised them that you would go.”

“Oh, really…”

“Oh come on, we’ll have fun and you’ll love it and you can teach them about Chop and you’ll love the place!”

“Okay….”

“Besides, you have to go!”

“Really?”

“Look, I’m pulling a favor. So now you really have to go.”

“Really. How many favors do I still owe you?”

“As many as I can get out of you…”

And the Jacque laughed.

And that’s how I ended up heading for the Hills. And yes, I am really happy to be going!
