I absolutely love David Sedaris. If you’re not familiar with him, he’s the best-selling author of such books as Me Talk Pretty One Day, Naked, and Holidays On Ice. His style is clean and direct, and his self-effacing slant is so damned funny. His wit is dry and he has amazing observational skills.

ar35ua1He’s not only a hell of a writer, he’s adept at reading his own stuff and he’s so funny you just cry. He has made numerous appearances on David Letterman. Here is a video of Sedaris doing a reading on Letterman from an article he wrote for Esquire. The piece is called “Stadium Pal” and it is hysterical:

I have found David’s work to be extremely inspirational.
