I’m not putting it on the FPR page. The Links are coming from the Directors of FPR. If you’ll notice, it says “FPR shared a link.” I think they like “this stupidity.” I also think they like the fact that 2 weeks ago, I arranged a fund raising event for them that raised over ten thousand dollars for their organization. But thank you for your kind comment…

I am totally amazed and appalled that you, odojoe, would make such a comment. For one thing, this is not stupidity. Second, if you don’t like it, don’t read it.
How can you bash someone who gave up, her time, her job, and her money to assist with an event that raised more awareness for FPR than you can imagine? How can you make such an unkind, mean comment about someone aided in bringing in over $10,000 into the coffers of FPR . She did this without payment, of her free will and gladly. We all worked to make the Chopolooza a success, but Patricia was the driving force that caused the excitement and awareness. Can you name any other individual with the integrity and passion that has so freely given of their time and effort?
That money will go a long way in aiding FPR with their efforts in the avian community. You, however, with your ignorant, mean-spirited and unkind words have undone, with one statement much that was accomplished. It causes me to wonder if this is the feeling of all of FPR, and if they do, in fact appreciate what was accomplished on their behalf during a one day event.
If this is the feeling of FPR, then be brave enough to state your name, and explain exactly why you feel the posts are “STUPIDITY”.
It is hateful, cruel comments such as yours that continue to widen the divide in the world of avian rehoming.
I suggest you step back and either apologize, or further explain the intent of your comment. I also suggest you “man-up” and further explain your comments and say who you are rather than hiding behind a “made-up” name and the comfort of your computer.

@ odojoe:
I would like an explanation as well…I love people with keyboard kahonas, they act like the got ‘nads the size of medicine balls when in reality and met in person they are the size of a pinhead and are as sweet as can be. What have you done for any of the rescues?
Let’s look at the facts: A kind-hearted person got an idea to do some good. She is a recognized columnist and active within the avian community, she raised funds and created an event where people enjoyed themselves… Ohhhhhhh my!!! They had laughter in the face of despair! Ohhhhhh my! A bunch of people got together and raised some money for some souls that have no voice (the birds). Where is the harm? Tell me what is wrong with that! Is this envy? Jealousy? What?!
At a time when so many of us in the avian community are trying to enrich and better the lives of our companion parrots, the last thing we need is someone to make a murky situation worse. I’m sorry, I don’t know where you’re coming from but obviously you have a great view of the world, and in particular, your tonsils because it is quite obvious your head is up your ass!
Let’s hear your side… come on—enlighten us, I personally love to entertain other people’s opinions, it opens a dialog and creates thought. What did Patricia do to harm anyone? Think of the money she raised and the good she did…just think about it.

Wow, we have to feel sorry for someone who’s inner child never gets to come out and play. Life is rough and the things rescues and Patricia see and have to deal with are sad and maddening so unless we have a sense of humour and can laugh — we’d all be insane. Keep us laughing Patricia hugs to you, Parker

FPR GREATLY appreciates everything you have done not only for FPR, but for birds everywhere. There are miserable people out there, plain and simple, and they are not happy unless they are making other people miserable too. Don’t let someone with a cruel heart ruin your day or put a damper on the wonderful things you have accomplished. Incidentally, my foster cockatiel, Ariel, won’t quit making forts out of the newspaper at the bottom of her cage and currently looks like Rainbow Bright. Gonna have to start using paper towels……

Patricia, you keep on keeping on. I was horribly bummed out when i heard that Bird Talk was closing up shop. Each month when my issue comes in, i drive my car to the mailbox, yeah i’m too lazy to walk there, and i sit in my car by the side of the road reading memo from parker and pepper. I cant wait the 3 mins it would take to get in my house. Anyway, i was sooo upset thinking i had lost your wonderful ways and comments until i was reminded by a friend about Parrotnation. I eagerly check out the site everyday looking for new comments by you. If its a slow day for you, i browse the old posts. The moral of my long rambling boring story is there are those of us who love what you do and how you do it. Dont give that idiot what they want: attention. Remember: ignore the naughty behaviors.
BTW, i LOVE The emails from parker. they leave me rolling on the floor and eagery waiting for the next email from the little angel.

Anyone who really knows and loves parrots finds these wonderful Parker email posts spot on and funny as all get out. Patricia, we very much appreciate all you do both through your blog and your work elsewhere. I am very happy that I found your blog and I am crossing my fingers that someday, somehow, you end up doing an event closer to my neck of the woods in southeastern Pennsylvania so I can meet you in person and shake your hand.
