Hi Patricia,
Boy do I know what you are talking about. Its so fun to hear other people talk about it too.
You made me laugh, so please keep the emails coming when you can. I love them.
Sincerly, Lindalee,
mother of a beautiful female 7 year old Peachface Lovebird names Peaches, a handsome 13 year old Cockateil, name Buddy and a very handsome and amazing Severe Macaw that I adopted about 3years ago and he will be 30 years old the 20th of June this year. His papers say his name is Goodie, but if you ask him “what is your name?” he will say Charlie. So sometimes I will call him Charlie too.

Last year I used to read a ‘parrot’ blog. Its entries were often too technical, a lot of info about parrots’ behavior. I am very interested in this topic; however, at times as I was reading that particular blog, I felt as I was studying to be a doctor in avian behavior! 🙂
And then one day I found Patricia’s blog. I read a few entries and enjoyed it so much.
And here is a moment of truth and I hope I won’t get into trouble for saying this. Oy! I hope not. I read only one or two “Memo to Parker and Pepper”. It simply does not interest me and I wonder now if that was the reason I did decide to check your blog.
You talk about things many of us experience.
The photos in each entry are not only great but they also add so much to what you write about. They give us, faithful readers, a feeling as we were there with you.
You wrote, “It’s enormously satisfying to write something that people will either learn something from it or get a laugh.”
I am glad to hear that, because this blogging brings joy not only into your life but also into ours.

I forgot to add that it looks like that the store you visit is literally packed with birdie toys. Must be a lot of fun visiting it.

Hi Anneka,
Don’t be silly! You won’t get into trouble for not reading the “Memos.” Not everything is everyone’s taste. The “Memos” are enormously popular overall and most people seem to love them. But just like that other blog, they aren’t everyone’s taste. I get paid to write them and I try to make them entertaining for those who enjoy them.
This blog is different: It’s more personal. It’s about all of the stuff I can’t write in the magazine. Maybe that’s why you like it. I’m actually quite flattered by your comments. So, thank you.
“Chippy the Pirate” is a small store in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and it does have a TON of toys!
